I don’t just teach acting — I live it.
I began working in television at the age of 7, and I’ve continued to build a career in the industry ever since. I didn’t come through traditional training routes; I learned by doing — on set, in the room, and through real experience. That’s exactly what I bring into my coaching.
In our sessions, you’ll gain an honest, grounded understanding of what it truly takes to succeed, survive, and stand out in this industry. No fluff — just real, practical insight from someone who is actively working as both an actor and a feature film director.
I’m also currently head of Screen Acting at The Performers Hub College Campus in Aylesbury, alongside providing personal online coaching. This means I bring a balance of structured training and current, real-world industry knowledge to every session.
A little about my background…
My name is Andrew Lee Potts, and I’m an English actor and award-winning director. I’m known for playing the Mad Hatter in SyFy’s Alice alongside Kathy Bates and Tim Curry, as well as Connor Temple in six seasons of ITV’s hit sci-fi series Primeval.
Over a 30-year career, I’ve worked in leading roles alongside Gary Oldman, Robert Carlyle, Terence Stamp, Michael Fassbender, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sienna Miller, Mena Suvari, Katherine Heigl, Dougray Scott, and Carey Mulligan.
My television work includes series regular roles in Ideal and Channel 4’s The Mill, as well as appearances in Band of Brothers (produced by Steven Spielberg), Stan Lee's Lucky Man, and the Netflix series The Innocents alongside Guy Pearce. I also portrayed Michael Collins in The Crown and appeared in Tin Star with Tim Roth.

Now working across both acting and directing, I offer a uniquely rounded perspective — understanding exactly what is required on both sides of the camera, and what it takes to “book the job” in today’s industry. My coaching is approachable, affordable, collaborative, and highly personalised. I work with actors at all levels to build confidence, sharpen performance, and develop authenticity on screen. Many of my clients have gone on to secure starring roles in Netflix productions and feature films.

This includes a much more tailored experience, tips and tricks and what maybe stopping you booking that job. Alongside detailed, personalised coaching. a bit more of a mentor vibe to this package where I I'm open and available for advice and communication over a month period as well as our 4 online sessions working around your schedule. This has been my most popular booking for my clients.
As part of this package, I will write a unique, custom scene specifically for you, designed to showcase your strengths.
